As the number of days we have with the class of 2021 dwindle, we want to take a moment to recognize each student and highlight their future plans. We have no doubt this group will go on to do great things. It has been our honor to serve each and every one of you for the past 12+ years.

For Lyndsey’s senior project, she conducted ten interviews with a variety of different farmers. Some of these farmers have been farming for over thirty years, others have just gotten started. She also did interviews with farmers who recently stopped dairy farming and who stopped farming over twenty years ago. She made this video to show the changes that have been occurring in the dairy industry and to spread a positive light on what these farmers dedicate every day of their lives and why they continue doing it. My name is Isabel Tucker and I am a senior at Highland Schools. One of my graduation requirements is to complete a senior exit project. This year I have taken on the mission of building a monument in honor of the Veterans of Highland. While speaking with the members of the American Legion/VFW, they informed me that they had been wanting a monument in Highland for a while. I felt that my project was the perfect opportunity to help them achieve their goal and also thank them for their service. This is a project that is close to my heart as I have many family members who are Veterans. My dad served as a Marine, my great-uncle Gene fought in Vietnam, my great-grandfather Sommerville and great-grandfather Tremelling fought in World War II, my great-great grandfather Slopak fought in World War I, and my cousin Danny is currently serving in the Air Force. My mentor Dennis Richgels and I have been working together on finding the dimensions of the monument, the materials needed and who will be providing them, who will be featured on the monument, and the location. As of now we have that information and we are now asking the community for donations. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate it if you could make a donation to help us complete the project of building a monument for the Veterans of Highland. Thank you in advance for your contribution. Your donation will go towards having the monument built for everyone to see and enjoy. Here are ways you can make a donation: Call us at (608) 341-7665 Send a check to the American Legion with the provided address Highland VFW or Highland American Legion at P.O. Box 45 Thank you again! Sincerely, Isabel Tucker
