All Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to attend Financial Aid Night on October 23rd at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Iowa-Grant High School in the Library.

In recognition of Patriot Day, the third graders made thank you cards for local first responders, soldiers, and veterans. They will be delivering them throughout the upcoming days/weeks. Here are just a few that were hand delivered this week! #cardinalpride #HCScardinals

Highland high school students are invited to our annual Homecoming Kick-Off Celebration. Festivities will begin at 4:00 on Sunday September, 15 at the Highland Village park. There will be games, food, prizes and lots of fun! Burgers will be provided by the Highland Student Council, but students attending are asked to bring a prize and dish to pass. Freshmen= chips or snack Sophomores= drink Juniors= dessert Seniors= buns, condiments, plates and utensils Hope to see you all there, happy homecoming!

Please leave parking in front of school open for this evenings events. If you would like to participate in the activities at the park on Sunday, sign up on the sheet posted in the office. Be sure to sign up before the end of the day tomorrow. If you have not turned in your handbook form, bring it to the office when the bell rings. HS students interested in being in the community play can sign up on the sheet posted in the library. Sign up ASAP! NEWS BULLETIN September 11, 2019 Congratulations to the Middle School Volleyball teams on their wins last night over Prairie du Chien. Four HS students are invited to tour the famous Taliesin homestead in Spring Green on October 1. If you are interested in this trip, please contact Mrs. Rusch no later than this Thursday. If you would like to order a homecoming t-shirt, there is a link on our website or the facebook page. Orders are due by tomorrow. There will be HS class meetings at 3:15 on Thursday. If you would like to ride the fan bus to De Soto on Friday you need to sign up by noon. The cost is $5.00.

Friendly Reminder: On Saturday, September 14th the Highland Booster Club will be hosting a Drive 4UR School event from 8:00am - 12:00pm at Fillback Ford - Highland. Fillback Ford will donate money to a softball fundraiser for every person who comes in to test drive a Ford vehicle. There is no obligation to purchase, just stop in a test drive a Ford! All proceeds will help fund a wind screen for the softball field. The varsity football game scheduled for TONIGHT will kick off at 7:00pm here in Highland. If you can't make it you can listen to the game on Xtreme 107.1.

Over the summer months the high school business lab underwent a complete remodel. The space, which used to be made up of built in work spaces, is now a multi-purpose classroom where students can gather and collaborate on various projects. The room still houses the same amount of technology, but the space is organized in a much more inviting, business like matter. This isn't the only high school flexible seating classroom this year. Ms. Weber, Spanish and AP English, teacher also transformed her classroom into a non-traditional, deskless learning space. We're excited to see how these learning environments benefit our high school level students. All middle and high school students who are signed up to ride the spectator bus to the football game tomorrow night, PLEASE BRING YOUR $5 TOMORROW and turn it in at the office. Remember the bus leaves at 5:40. You will also need money for admission to the game and for the concession stand.

Any students interested in riding a fan bus to the football game in North Crawford on Thursday can sign up in the office. The cost is $5.00 and you need to sign up today. Anyone going to the fair on Thursday, please pick up a pre-excused absence form. This will be an excused absence. Your parents still need to inform the school that you will be absent.
