Phone: ext. 138

Greetings!  My name is Ms. Diane Kaiser.  I live in Clyde, WI, which is about thirteen miles northwest of Highland.  I live in the country on thirty acres of land.  My husband and I built our own house.  We like it a lot.  I like to take very long walks, read, do yoga, and teach.  My favorite food is pasta and my favorite kids' book is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

Professional Experience

I am a graduate from UW-Platteville with a license in elementary education.  I taught sixth grade for three years in the Riverdale School District and then decided to return to college at UW-Madison where I earned a masters degree in curriculum and instruction along with a 316 reading license.  After graduating, I taught Title I for a year at Monona Grove Schools, until I found my permanant "teaching home" in Highland.  Since arriving in Highland twenty-one years ago, I have taught Title I, fifth grade, and currently second grade.  I have enjoyed each and every teaching position I have ever held, always seeking to grow from each new challenge.

I feel that kids learn best when the experiences are hands-on.  My classroom is packed with numerous activities and projects that help second graders along their road to experiences and exploration.  My kids have taught me that this is the best way to learn!

Parent/Teacher Relationship

I think that a good parent/teacher relationship is vital for ultimate school achievement.  During the school year I will communicate with you through notes, e-mails, phone calls, our weekly second grade newspaper, our second grade handbook, and of course, whenever I bump into you in the hallways or at special events.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.  You may call me at school:  929-4525.  My school e-mail is dkaiser@highland.k12.wi.us.
